\nEnligt Deep Torkel var Stabbers Sveriges b\u00e4sta punkband, men f\u00f6r de som bor utanf\u00f6r Stockholmsregionen \u00e4r namnet s\u00e4kert obekant. Stabbers startades av Matti, ex Tanks &
\nThe Fuzz, och Hocky, som i vanliga fall spelade bas med The Pain, men d\u00e5 Janne Oldeus hade slutat saknade The Pain gitarrist och l\u00e5g d\u00e4rf\u00f6r p\u00e5 is. Hocky plockade med sig Stejo som trummis och Micke L\u00f6\u00f6v blev gitarrist, Matti spelade bas och Hocky h\u00f6ll sig till s\u00e5ngen.
\nStabbers spelade enligt Micke, h\u00e5rt, naket och suggestivt, mer \u00e5t Stooges-h\u00e5llet \u00e4n 77-punk. Repertoaren bestod dels av Painl\u00e5tar som ”Churchyard” dels av covers som ”Hound dog” och\u00a0 ’Your Pretty Face is going to hell’. Namnet kom fr\u00e5n en engelsk l\u00f6psedel som Micke hade sett, den handlade om Sid som hade knivd\u00f6dat sin flickv\u00e4n. Den l\u00f6d n\u00e5got i stil med Punk star stabbed girlfriend to death. Enligt Micke tyckte alla det var ett coolt namn, till och med Matti.
\nBandet gjorde 5-6 spelningar ute b.la med Stoodes och Rude Kids. Enligt Micke spelade de p\u00e5 4:an vid tv\u00e5 tillf\u00e4llen likas\u00e5 p\u00e5 tv\u00e5\u00a0g\u00e5nger p\u00e5 Musikverket. De gjorde \u00e4ven en spelning i Nacka. Men n\u00e4r The Pain fick tag p\u00e5 Janne Andersson s\u00e5 var det tack och adj\u00f6 med Stabbers. Micke fick erbjudandet att bli gitarrist i Stoodes och hoppade med. Matti gick vidare till n\u00e5got av hans \u00e4ndl\u00f6sa replokalsband.<\/p>\n
