Historik:<\/strong>
\nTampax Street bildades i slutet av 1978. Redan fr\u00e5n start hade gruppen problem med trumslagare. Bandets f\u00f6rsta trummis Ing-Marie Svedberg med ett f\u00f6rflutet i The Tanks ersattes snart av Katti Flemstr\u00f6m som f\u00e5tt sparken fr\u00e5n The Heat. Men inte heller Katti blev l\u00e5ngvarig i bandet. Alien Beats trumslagare Pelle Lidell fungerade till och fr\u00e5n som tillf\u00e4llig ers\u00e4ttare. Mellan dessa trumstolsbyten lyckades \u00e4nd\u00e5 bandet b\u00e5de repa och spela ute. Gruppens repertoar bestod mestadels av egna l\u00e5tar alla p\u00e5 engelska med ett undantag – ”Batong”. Men man framf\u00f6rde ocks\u00e5 en ganska fr\u00e4ck och egen verison av gamla ”Stay with me”.
\nVid en spelning p\u00e5 Musikverket d\u00f6k ett antal manliga strippor upp p\u00e5 scenen till publikens stora (eller) gl\u00e4dje. Med Kristina H\u00f6gstr\u00f6m p\u00e5 trummor fick de skivkontrakt hos Adventure Records med villkoret att de bytte gruppnamn, eftersom en av de tv\u00e5 \u00e4garna, Billy Madden tyckte det var anst\u00f6tligt. S\u00e5 de l\u00e5nade raskt namnet av en kvinnlig seriehj\u00e4ltinna och blev Modesty Blaise.
\nAv de fem l\u00e5tar som tidigare spelats in under namnet Tampax Street valdes ”Network” och Don\u00b4t stop running” ut till samlingsplattan ”Let It Out 2”. N\u00e4r bandet splittrades i slutet av 1981 fortsatte gitarristen Eva Hagst\u00f6rm och s\u00e5ngerskan Chris Ros att jobba tillsammans nu som: Network. Musiken som duon gjorde var mer elektronisk och synthbaserad \u00e4n Tampax Streets punk. Network \u00e5terfinns p\u00e5 Slicks samlingskassett – Cosa Nostra.
\nV\u00e4rt att n\u00e4mna \u00e4r ocks\u00e5 att Chris fortsatte som reporter och redakt\u00f6r p\u00e5 Sveriges f\u00f6rsta (och enda?) kassettidning: Sound – Tracks i b\u00f6rjan av 80-talet.<\/p>\n
